I have a X800GTO AGP flashed to an X800XL. It has the R430 GPU which we all know isn't known for overclocking. With stock cooling I get artifacts at 435MHZ so I'm running at 425 and temps max out at 68C.

My question is if it is worth it to get better cooling. Is the R430 likely to clock higher with good cooling or is it a waste of money?

I doubt that with extra cooling you'd get much more. As you said, most R430 don't o/c very well. Usually upto an extra 50Mhz if you're lucky.
If your temps are around the 60Cs, or under, then I wouldn't bother personally.

Thanks. I didn't think it made sense either. I'm quite happy with how it performs now that all 16 pipes are working, just making sure I'm not missing out on anything.
