Hmmm AM2 board...the 7750 is an AM2+, though they could've had a BIOS update to add support for them.

My honest opinion though, is that you should just get a 5400+ x2 or a 6000+ x2 and OC it. B/c you'll be limited when you OC with only DDR2 800 RAM, when the 7750+ x2 and Phenoms are able to use DDR2 1066.

you would see a huge performance boost with this processor.

But don't buy it at the current price, atm with the PhII's out it's still listed at $120, I'd wait if that was your interest because it's not really worth that atm in my opinion.

Hi... Following the thread, I would like to ask almost same but not the same question..

I want to upgrade processor and Video Card on my M2N-E m/b. As for Video Card, Sapphire 4830 HD 512Mb was choosen.

As for processor... I have 2 finalists:
Phenom 8650 AM2+ X3 3MB(HD8650WCGHBOX) & Athlon X2 7750 BE(AD775ZWCGHBOX)

The price difference is does not matter. Which processor is better for me?

My system is:
Processor (X)
3Gb (2+1) DDR2 667MHz Patriot
M2N-E M/b
Video Card (Now it is 7600GT by eVGA, making me some problems)
1х1.5Tb Seagate HDD SATA II
1х320Mb WD HDD SATA II
2x120Mb WD HDD IDE (RAID 1)
1xDVD-RW Optiarc x 20 SATA
1 Additional NIC (100T)
OS: Now it is Windows 7 build7077 x86/Vista SP1 Ultimate x86

& the last question... Is JPS 420 True Watt PSU is enough for such a system? Or should I use something like TOP POWER EZ SILENT 700WATT?

Thank you in advance for help!

Next time make your own topic. But to answer the question, I'd go with the 7750BE and a good quality power supply such as the Corsair VX450. Both PSU's you listed are crappy low quality units.

9950be

since it supports am2+, i wonder if it will support also 940be? most am2+ mobos doesn't need an update for the 920 and 940be if it can already handle phenom 1s anyway.

Thank you guys for helping me out.

7750BE it is. There are many good processors supported by M2N-E board, but I do not need Q-Unit, so be it.

As for PSU, I do have now EZCool 420 by JSP, and I know that it is mid-lvl generic unit, but it is serves me well over 2 years already, so it is not complete crap

I am working a lot with generic PSunits, and yeah, the Corsair or even Thermaltake is much more stable, but not always ideal
..

I'll go on THERMALTAKE 500W TR2-RX this time, as 4830 needs one e.connector.

All the best and regards to all who replied.
