Hello,

As you know, there are alot of issues with BF3 but i haven't heard anyone with my issue..

I play the game on all max (ultra) 1920x1200 2xAA

When i use 4xAA i get abnormal framedrops, even while nothing is going on, on the screen.
The weird thing is that, when it drops, it always drops to 33/32fps, not higher, not lower.
It usually happens for a few seconds.

Usually i get 70/80/90 fps.
I do have installed 285.79, but it didn't fix the issue for me..
I have the game installed on my Vertex3 120GB SSD.

Is anyone having the same?

First of all, I strongly recommend you to disable Hyper-threading on your i7 to remove all stuttering. After you've done that, I'd recommend you to turn off Deferred AA (MSAA) and use AA Post instead, use AA Post Medium, which is what looks better!

They're both giving the same image quality, but;

MSAA x2 or x4 = ~30% performance loss
AA Post Medium/High = ~3% performance loss

Reason why I suggest using Medium Post AA instead of High is because High makes the textures blurry and look ugly, while Medium looks the best.

As for Ambient Oclussion, I also suggest you to lower it from HBAO to SSAO.

Now the game will look exactly the same, as good, yet it will perform a lot better.

PS: Use 285.72 WHQL; They work a lot better than .79 on my GTX580 SLI.

You're welcome, let me know how it turns out.

I find AA Deferred quite useless in this game as it takes a huge performance impact (Up to half the FPS sometimes

) and it does just as good as AA Post Medium which only takes like a ~3% performance impact.

I tried those BETA drivers but I had huge GPU usage drops, so I rolled back to 285.62 WHQL and they work much better.

Are your cards overclocked? This could mean the cards are unstable.

Yeah, i am running mine at 875,1750,2200.

but other games run completely fine.

I have tested them for hours in BC2, Crysis 2, Metro 2033, 3DM vantage and 3DM11.

But the black screen is very random... sometimes it runs fine for 3 hours long and the other time it crashes after 30 mins..
I'm still thinking its a game issue since i have been reading about people having the same black screen issue.

Temps are also good, with a max of 70c on GPU1 and 68c on GPU2

If it happens again I'd suggest you to bump the cards voltage a little bit, this is a very stressful game and it stresses the card more than all those games you provided.
