I recently bought a AMD 6970 Card my specs are -

Intel Core2Duo E7500 2.93 Ghz

3GB DDR2 RAM

Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 600W

MSI HD6970 Lighting 2GB

500 Gb Segate SATA Hard Drive

I am playing battlefield 3 on 1920x1080 resolution i've installed the latest catalyst driver version. I am getting 30-40 FPS in all medium settings and no AA and sometimes it drops to 20 . i installed the MSI afterburner an it shows following when i play-

GPU temperature - 60
GPU Usage - 30 - 45 %
Fan speed - 51 %

i don't know why itz happening my friends getting more than 60 fps with same card

help me

My CPU usage is generally 70% when playing BF3, temps are around 70degress with 4.7OC. So, IMHO, game also uses CPU. It could be your CPU mate

CPU and RAM are significantly underpowered mate, its very CPU intensive and requires 4-8Gb RAM to run smoothly

You should be bolding your CPU. Dual cores run like garbage on the frostbite engine (unless you have hyper-threading).

Its your CPU, if you had a real CPU, you would be able to play on ultra with MSAA disabled.

CPU is not enough to run the multiplayer component of BF3.

You will need to update mobo and RAM while you do that. Get at least 8GM of RAM and everything should work out great for you.

As others have stated your CPU and ram are bottlenecking the game and your gpu, upgrade those.

I know that the faster your cpu for bf3 the better, overclocking my 2500k seems to make the game run more smoother.

big cpu bottleneck there and a slight ram bottleneck.
its best to run BF3 on a quadcore especially when using a high end card like 6970.

Look for a used Q6600 or Q9550 if you're willing to spend more.
If you have a bigger budget, consider getting a new mb+cpu
FX6300 or i5 would be great for bf3

Definitely a bottlenecking issue. I had the same problem with my old cpu and a gtx 670. Probably gonna need a cpu upgrade
