I was looking through Newegg, at hardware I'll probably never buy, and saw this thing.

The speeds (580 core 1750 mem) they have listed have to be misprints right? I mean, this card could potentially make a mockery out of 3DMark06.

The disgusting part is NVIDIAs going to make cards that have TWO of these on one interface...that way, if you have an X16 SLI motherboard, you could have FOUR total video cards on your system for a total of 2gigs dedicated to video. (Details from CES2006)

I'm just saying, I've never seen a video card come that far overclocked from the factory. Isn't the stock GTX memory speed in the area of around 1300MHz?

Yeah but this is BFG we're talking about, they're always OC'd out of the box.

That's for the 256Mb card. The 512Mb is 1700MHz.

Ok, so there are two different specs for the 256 and 512. I was going a little nuts when I saw that speed.

yeah, nVidia goofed with their naming stradegy IMO. the GTX 256Mb and GTX 512Mb don't differ ONLY in their amount of memory. the GTX 512Mb has much much faster memory, and the core is also considerably higher.

Well dang, my card has the heatsink but not the guts.

But if it's on a G70 core how do they clock it so high? Are the cores on the 256 and 512 different types?
