ok.....i have been so pissed with this x600xt that i have i had to order a 6800 something. i looked everywhere, the only pci express 6800s where regualr ones but 2 companies. the msi one, and the Asus one. i really wanted a 6800gt, but couldnt find one in stock anywhere....so i decided to get one of these because they said the Gts wouldnt be in stock till end of Jan. i ordered the asus, because it has a higher clock, but then for some wierd reason the asus has a 600mhz mem clock, and the msi has 700mhz, but they are the same chip
. but then there is a nother 6800, the leadtek, but it also has 600mhz mem. so why does the msi have higher:***:? and 2 days later im finding XFX and BFG 6800gt pciE everywhere!!!!
i think someone is out to get me...im cursed..
..but if i rma the asus, it'll cost me 15%+overnight shipping=expensive
....so i dont think its worth it to trade. not to mention the bfg cost $400, and the asus cost me 420$..
.and the xfx is 470$.
but anyways.....did i make a big mistake ordering this, and why is the memory higher. i think i just freakin dug myself in a hole i cant get out of for a few months....
SH$% crap moF&%6er
:grrr:
pardon my french..im just royally pissed

It's a money thing I would say. I would personaly dump the 6800 for a 6800GT, but if you don't have the money to spend to return it I guess you're just out of luck
i have the money...but lol 15% of $420 restocking fee, and 40$ shipping...is about $103 dollars waisted....is it worth it?
Hard to say...it's like EvilXP says, a 6800 standard is enough for serious gaming, but a 6800GT is considerable faster as well... plus a 6800GT is usually about $100 more than a 6800 standard...I don't know what to tell ya,. $100 is pretty steep

I would go with the GT as well. They are putting up some damn good numbers/performance.

i got a 6800 staderd it runs like a dream u can unlock the outher 4 pipelines with reva tunner so i have been told not ried it yet but ill give it a go
If you trade up to the GT, may I suggest that BFG be the company you choose? This company is the only company to offer a Limetime unlimited warrantee, so if you OC and fry it they will replace it Free!

Good Luck with your descision!

dont trade it in unless u cant unlock the pipes. Does the pipes unlokc?
I'd go for the GT. All 6800's are good but the GT is the sweet spot of the product line. Also the 2 normal 6800's Ive tried to unlock have failed.

If you keep the normal one, as soon as you try a game that doesn't run quite as fast as you'd like your really going to regret it. It's only money, spend it on what you like best.
i just got a evga 6800 gt check it out its nice price and 256mb http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...130-203&depa=0 like 388 free shipping that blows away anything i found
well, yeah i traded for the gt, and its here.....its way faster now. an BTW i was looking for PCi express cards, not agp.... and i didnt want to go thru unlocking the pipes cuz it probly wont work. but thatnks anywayz guys!
unlimited lifetime warranty? are you kidding me? they only make that guarantee for normally clocked cards...not overclocked ones, because the second you oc it it automatically voids any warranty you can think of.

I would never order from a place that charges a 15% restocking fee for an unopned and not even used item. Call them up and explain the situation. Maybe the retailer can work something out if you wait a bit until they get some 68gt pci-e boards in. If they want to screw you tell them you are going to reverse the charges on the credit card. I would reverse the charge now before they even ship you anything.

Well BFG sells their cards overclocked from the factory, and they do offer lifetime warranty on this overclocked cards.

This is mentioned as one of the pros of the BFG cards in about every review I've seen.

hmm... you do have a point... a warranty on a pre-overclocked card is amazing, imo...

your kidding me... they even replace it ... even if you unlock pipes and it dies

PSH if this is the case i'd get a 6800 and if the pipes didnt unlock i'd let it spark and get a new one that did

Sounds like the making of "figuring out how long the card runs without a heatsink" or "what happens when I pour coke on a video card" or "how hard can I throw a screw driver at said video card"
"Are video cards flameable? Let's find out!"
