I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM WHEN I TRY TO OC MY LAPTOP CPU

CPU NAME

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8700 @ 2.53GHz

I TRY THAT WITH SOFTWARE CALLED SETFSB

PROG COULDN'T RECOGNIZE MY MOTHERBOARD

SO I CHOOSE THIS CODE ON IT
ics9148bf-26

AFTER THAT I CLICKED ON THE SETFSB BUTTON

THEN THE CLOCK OF CPU CHANGED
FROM
2533GHZ
TO
2527GHZ

I TRY EVERY THING TO GET THE ORIGINAL CLOCK AGAIN BUT I FAILD

THIS IS PIC FROM EVREST TO PROVE THAT

PLEASE HELP!

why are you trying to overclock a laptop???

laptops already run to hot as it is so why are you trying to make it hotter. laptops should not be overclocked!
Please do not post in all capital letters.

Thankyou for providing pictures however.

Are you sure that you are selecting the correct chipset/controller in setfsb?

I cant reccomend overclocking laptops however.
I agree with mocha, but that doesn't answer your question.

It's close enough to your original clock speed that it's probably where it was to begin with. Put your CPU under a load, and it should stabilize.

Also, you shouldn't overclock your laptop

yeah... even desktops should be overclocked by SetFSB. that can screw a computer more then anything.

your clock is only off my like 5mhz thats nothing. right now i would run Intel Burntest or LinX for like 10 or 15 runs just so you know its stable then leave it. you have learned a lesson. DO NOT OVERCLOCK A LAPTOP. they dont even have adequate cooling out of the box.

Run A Dx9 game on a computer running Intel integrated graphics, then say that (It bsoded, had to use a backup for it to boot into windows again)

First I would like to say everyone saying laptops don't have good enough cooling don't know jack about really.... anything. Laptop CPU's have higher thermal thresholds. Unless you have a laptop of AWFUL quality, or it's 115 degrees in your room, laptops run within their acceptable temp ranges, and are therefore cooled an acceptable amount. If your thermal threshold is 80c, it doesn't matter if your temps are 20c, you will get virtually no performance gain over having them at 78C.

Second, everyone is right on their other point.... Don't OC a laptop, it's like putting a spoiler on a chevy chevet: It just won't do jack.

umm, noone said making it cooler will increase performance, but running a chip at 100c will kill it.

even if it is a mobile chip.

OP, you need to learn to edit your posts. you had 5 in a row without any other posts in between.
