Post your stable settings or ideas you can get for Biostar Mini-ITX, the first ITX X370 board for AMD AM4 and Ryzen, for memory overclocking. You can also post rest of your stats if you want.
I wanted to help people so sorry if this post does not really look tidy, but i wanted to publicize my findings personally and help others, and i'll be glad to see if any more BIOSTAR AM4 owners can help eachother. =)

Post your:

  • CPU series: e.g. Ryzen 3 with Vega Graphics, 2200G 4-Core 4-Thread
  • Brand + model: (maybe add revision if you know. - e.g. Biostar Racing X370GTN5 / REV5.0 X370GTN, BIOSTAR)
  • BIOS + AGESA version : e.g. simple name: X37AK309.BSS filename / Pi 1000a / March 9th 2018 / latest BIOS
  • Memory clock + DRAM voltage: e.g. 3200Mhz | 1.35Volts
  • Timings/subtimings: e.g. 14-14-14-14-22, CR=1T. e.g. TRC=36 TRFC=256, all else on Auto, Power down and geardown disabled.
  • ProcODT: e.g. 53.3Ohm (In my case.) (This is a important value as since Raven Ridge BIOS / PI BIOSes, the value decreased by at least 1 or 2 notches)
  • Data Bus Settings / RZQ Values : e.g. Dis / Off / RZQ/5 - to be exact
    RttNom: Dis (Rtt Nom Disable)
    RttWr: Off (Dynamic ODT off)
    RttPark: RZQ/5 (RZQ/5)
  • SOC voltage
    (Important! May help many with different ram kits and the 2200G/2400G.) You can try to look for it in Windows or Linux (HWInfo64), but BIOS setting name would be helpful
    : e.g. 1.2V (+0.100V Offset from Stock 1.1V as per AMD spec)

And that's it!

My examples:
1. 2600X - CL14-14-14-28 at Auto ProcODT, Data Bus: RZQ/4 & Off & RZQ/4 and 1.5V DRAM (+0.300v) and 1.2V (+0.100v) SOC with Geardown mode Enabled at 3333MHz RAM. Stable ever since on CPU OC at 4.1GHz (+0.200v) 41,00x multiplier, just make sure to enable GDM (Gear Down Mode) or it will not boot due to current bios bugs with AGESA. Also disabled PowerNow as somehow it gave me issues as well as trusted computing and ECC. Everything else - NX Mode, SVM Mode, SMT, Cstates is left as default.

2. 2200G - Attached for 1000a bios, an older example but will still help those who want to reliably overclock this cheaper Ryzen APU.

For sometihng to know: Decreasing the Data Bus RZQ number actually pushes more ohms through the Data Bus, and can actually make your previously unstable OC 'stable' so if your ProcODT gives nothing, 1,5v dram gives nothing, 1,2v soc, nothing, try this, i set it to RZQ/4 instead of RZQ/5 or Disable/Off/5 and it works perfectly now at 3333mhz cl14.

Ryzen 1700 and 2700x

CPU series: Ryzen 1700 and 2700x
Brand + model: Biostar Racing X370GTN
BIOS + AGESA version : Pi 1002a (Beta)
Memory clock + DRAM voltage: 3333Mhz | 1.45Volts
Timings/subtimings: 14-14-14-14-28-44-5-8-25-4-12-10-0-2-2-333-Auto-Auto-53.3Ohm-14-8-7-3-1-6-6-1-5-5-1-1T-Disabled-Disabled
ProcODT: 53.3Ohm
Data Bus Settings / RZQ Values : RZQ/5 / Off / RZQ/5
SOC voltage: Auto
Interleaving: Channel - 512 Bytes - Enabled

This is rock solid on both the 1700 and 2700x. This is confirmed with GSAT running at 2 hours and loads of hours in games(at least on the 1700 cpu)

I have tried a lot of things to reach 3466, but no luck there. Even on the 2700x, there is no chance. I can boot into Windows and do a lot of things in Windows, but will always fail a Aida64 stresstest within 10min.

Hi, thanks for the timings. I just flashed latest pinnacle 1.0.0.2a (beta) bios. Tried it. 3200 is Memtest HCI 300% stable but 3333 gives instant prime95 blend errors of rounding 'fatal error' etc...

No matter what Data Bus settings i use. i can't do 3333 without prime95 instantly erroring out.

I tried my old RZQ, i tried RZQ 7/3/1 that also does it, in fact the Dis/Dyn ODT Off/5 actually let me pass p95 for 10 minutes BUT gave an error.

Maybe i need to play more but seriously thanks for your input i am super stable at 3200mhz i just got a bad chip but you helped a lot just by posting into this!

Now i just need to prime95 test my CPU overclock (or easier to go back to stock) I am tired :p

These worked (had to downgrade bios though)

With AUTO ProcODT, 1,45V DRAM (+0.240v), 1,2V SOC (0,100v+) I am Prime95 blend stable for 20 minutes, i just did the timings, but no ProcODT, and RZQ values.
and 3.7ghz on stock CPU Core Voltage i am finally stable for 20 mins in latest Prime95 Blend. i had to downgrade bios to 1000a as 1002a for Ryzen 2 support has reported issues with stability even at same settings
Time for MemTest but so far my settings are so snappy thank you so much, these subtimings worked better than Stilt Slow with 14-14-14-22 36 trc on top.
This is Windows 10 1803 Spring Creators RTM running as well with trusted computing on and iommu on
I do NOT recommend the later 1002 bios because of this.

Hey! Cool that it worked out well for you. Used some time to find that out, so it's only great to share it. I haven't been able to do 3466 no matter what on 1.0.0.2a, but perhaps on 1.0.0.0 can do it. Will try later and report back if that is better.

It can it does the same or better but the bios is less bloated, it just kind of feels stable, i assume it'll work with 2700x, i currently got a 2600x, sorry that i said 1000a would brick it, Pi bios is all Pinnacle ready =)
Now i have a NH-L12s low profile weird setup on the same mobo, but 16gigs of 2666 2x8gb crucial dual rank ram because when i took heatsinks off my Trident Z to install a tighter cooler in the older PC case, i killed 1 stick (ouch)
But even though i do not have b-die, and that i have still one of the world's fastest GPUs rn (1080 Ti, mini edition, lowest clocks but still beefy AF) with latest Win10 1809 on the FIRST Pinnacle (1000a) BIOSTAR bios it runs wonders. Locked the CPU at 4GHz as my VRMs aren't ideal and i don't like XFR that much - do not think x370/b350 is optimized for it anyway - If i get a X470GTN to play with i might resurrect this thread, but now it's pretty much dead. Last bump as BIOSTAR is sponsored by AMD for RYZEN 3000 series, hopefully x470gtn can run at least the 8-core 3000 Ryzen for higher clocks and no latency (hopefully).

Currently running a 2600X with a 1080 Ti and OCed 2933mt/s CL18 1T RAM, stable on 1000a bios, no need to update, though i wish i had faster RAM and a 2700X just to fully take advantage of the gtx =)
