Can we give you ideas for this one?
It would be cool to see a 2 barb jet style block (like the Storm).

I have to tell you It is hard to mess with success and both 1#2 in my opinion perform very well, I attribute this to my thin dimpled base. As for the 2 outlet design, it looks cool but #1 and # 2 run neck and neck on temps with my setup. Even Cathar himself (I have been reading) has said there is very little performance increase in dual outlet design. Doing something like the impringement nozzles requires a CNC miller or lots of time on an old mill. I think my accelerator nozzles and dimpling of the base comes as close as you can do on a drill press.

I've always been a fan of thin, dimpled bases--though I've never seen yours.

<that one made the coyotes howl, really!>

I'd enjoy hearing about your build.

Ah, that's good fun!

Before I ask a whole bunch of questions, can you point me to a thread where you've already discussed this?

Then I'll ask a bunch of questions.

I might even look stupid!

I'm looking forward to seeing the result of this.

I'm with you on this one Burn. I want to see the end results. I may be a poor man, but I like to see nice work
OMG please dont wait to show us this till the end. i've been waiting for you to make another one for a while. but i have only one thing to say, since youve been doing CPU blocks, do you think that you might be able to try making a VGA block. just saying this as you've already done 2 other CPU blocks.
I think VGA block are probably harder to make because they are smaller...
Your doing this on just a drill press?
Well thats just the "bee's knee's"
Looks great!

I will eventually do a VGA block, I am looking for a template now for a universal mounting. I only have my 9700 pro to go by and I am not going to pull it apart because its the only card I have. Sooner or later I will get my hands on some burned out cards to make a pattern from or find a blueprint.
Right now I am waiting for a copper block from Danger Den, I already have the top and bottom peices.

You can find pretty much all you want here. Good luck.

I got the chunk of copper I needed from Danger Den today, Thought they would have done a better cutting job and the other side is not real flat. NOt a problem though just more work. This time I have this nice little cross feed vise to use, it should make things a bit easier.

fstfrddy, what are the dimensions of the block you got? I'm getting back into the block business and have several designs, I just need some diameters to get me started.

#1 is 2x2", #2 is 2x2.5", Unless you were building one for socket A I would go with a 2x2.5. It gives you much more room to play with, it is tough fitting 2 1/4 NPT barbs into the 2x2. #3 is going to be a 2x2 because I have a top plate already made.

Here it is, I still have a lot of work to do on it, but you can see what it will look like, all copper, except the screws and handmade barbs.
WOW that looks very nice man keep it up!!
Thanks Bigval, some lucky Overclock.net member is going to own this.
