Whoa. Do you mean it's the very same shade of blue that we see when we get a Blue Screen of Death?

Oh. Then that might be the default desktop color that is kinda "behind" the wallpaper.

But when did this start happening?

you know what! when I went to personalize and tried to change my desktop it went blue and my desktop background image is gone and i cant change to another one and these are the ones that come standard with vista ultimate

Hmm. This makes me wonder if there's some setting, or theme that's chosen that's making it behave this way. After all, computers always do what they're told. So, if something is happening that's unexpected, and if you were to be able to ask the computer why it's doing that, then it would look at you, shrug, and say "I dunno. I'm just doing what I'm being told to do!"

So, take a look in the display options for a while. Perhaps there's something that needs to be changed. Or, it might have something to do with access privileges of some kind.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful than this.
