I was wondering. Is it only the memeroy that causes the blue screen of death or is it the CPU sometimes and other causes. I'm asking from recent overclocking attempts of my mums 2.8Ghz Northwood (which runs at full load with a temp of over 60C at stock speed). Remember focus on the question not my mums CPU's heats because i know it's crap.

Generally, it's RAM, but it's really more or less nothing more than indication of general instability....meaning a BSOD isn't necessarily a guaranteed sign of one thing being the point of instability over the other. BSOD's were more common on my IC7 (now resting in peace) when the mobo would reach it's limit. When the RAM would reach it's limit, I would get no boot at all (blank screen). That's just one experience I can personally relate, for the sake of reference. I would recommed backing off the OC and testing both CPU and RAM separately (w/ Prime95).
