I installed windows 98 on one partition using FAT32, it works fine.
I installed windows xp pro on another, and it worked.
I installed windows 2000 on another, and it worked.
I updated windows 2000 all the way with windows update, then tried to boot windows xp pro.
It failed to boot, because it tried to load windows 2000 at the same time.
I quick formated the windows 2000 partition.
I tried to load XP pro again, to no avail. (boot options still showed windows 2000....
)
I even tried safe mode....
Now I am back on windows 98.....

I have a linux CD that can access my ntfs file systems..... is there a way I can boot windows xp pro without reinstalling it?

I dont know about that but i do know you have my problem! I did this and i found out that i had two boot records on my hdd and when i removed the second os it would still try to boot it because of the boot record... Im not sure how to go about it because the second os was on another hdd but i think that maybe why...

How many OS's?! Why dont you run windows 98, and copy the "PLUS!" folder from windows on to a CD, eg C:\\winnit\\plus! (i think), then set up win 2000 paste the plus folder in the winnit folder again, run the command "themes" from the start menu and tada! Windows 2000 that looks like 98! no need for a 98 partition!
