I had a problem with my P6T.
It would not even get to post. It would start up and then die off, as if there was a short.
One, by one, I removed everything, including the board from the case and still had the problem.
Swapped out the power supply, still same problem.

I eventually reset the cmos on the motherboard.
Voila, it got fixed and is working fine now.

My question is whether this is a strange fluke or is foreshadowing a potential longer term problem with my motherboard.

Thanks!

well, I spoke too soon.

i can't boot anymore.

what is strange is that once I was up and running, all was fine. I ran prime, etc. it is just after shutting down, i couldn't restart.

i could sleep and wake up.

is this a motherboard problem?
before replacing it, any ideas?

thanks

Very strange that it works fine when its in windows but not now...must be something that it uses only on booting perhaps, and not once its loaded. The bios loads into the ram so would explain why once loaded it has no problems, even if sleeping because I guess it gets transfered to the hard drive when in sleep mode rather than reloading from the bios when woken up.

Have you tried clearing the cmos again? See if that works a second time.

Perhaps someone else can help, can the bios go wrong and stop booting? :S
