When I boot my computer I get 4 beeps, but they are of different tones. Sometimes it gets to the first screen of the boot where it displays the computer info, then it turns itself off... I do not have that beep in my mobo manual. The only thing that is different is I have a new thermal compound. But, the processor is working fine because it gets to the BIOS...

It turned out that after I applied the thermal compound the darn 775 heatsink didn't mount correctly. The intel motherboard had some sort of safety feature that automatically shut down the computer without the heatsink mounted properly. When I turned on the computer after remounting the heatsink, I got a BIOS warning that the computer failed on its last boot because of a processor overheat. (overheated within 3-5 seconds, that fast!) It asked me if I wanted to continue, F4, I did and I have no problems!
