Will my amd 965 3.6ghz bottleneck 2 6850 CF at 1920 x 1080 max AF 2x AA. Honestly...

A 965 at that clock speed should max the potential of 6850's.
A 6850 isn't exactly a monster by itself, you should be fine.

Radeons scale well.
Honestly? No. Not honestly? No.
I think You should be good with Your CPU and CF configuration. And even if, then bottlenecking will be very small, You shouldn't see any difference.

I'd say that will be a very nice solid setup. The 965 at 3.6 shouldn't be an issue. Have fun.
YES it will

Heres a comparison between my old AMD rig and another members intel rig.
Both sets of cards are 6870s.

Mine

His

Notice how his minimum fps was equal to my average fps. My 945 was a 4ghz and they still bottlenecked pretty badly.

Both cards are very close in performance, and the 965 even at 4ghz like mine was wont be fast enough to push the cards. Games will still play fine BUT you will never max out your gpu usage, so hence you will be bottlenecked.

even tho the resolution is different?

Yes, I game at 1920x1080 and my fps wouldnt go over what that average was. Also in BFBC2 I would max out at like 90fps with 2 6870s with averages in the 60s, my one 570 peaks at 110fps and the average is between 80-90fps. Clearly the 570 is not as powerful as 2 6870s but they were gimped due to my cpu. I would suggest that you get 1 more powerful card OR if you already have a 6850 get another but save for a cpu upgrade sometime soon. Thats the only way they will perform at their best, otherwise they will be gimped.

Well I would say yes it would bottleneck. I had a q6600 intel clocked at 3.6ghz and it severly killed my fps. Cards ran at like 60% 2 x geforce 470s. Got the i5 2500k ocd to 4ghz. Now they run at 99% all the time when loaded up.
OK so if i get one amazing card. Will i be bottlenecking it? at all? like say... a 6950?
