Just like the title suggest, I bought one and just slapped it on. I didn't do a full format or check for bad sectors. I am offloading 500 GB right now to it so I can disable one of the HDDs till I find my cases mounting brackets

Will it be fine if I run WD Data Lifeguard tools after the fact? If Data is written on bad sectors, will it remove that data? What will it do with bad sectors? the 500 GB I moved over is of little consequence to me btw but I definitely don't want to delete and recopy again unless absolutely necessary

Download Seagate Seatools and run the tests from that program and if no errors come up the drive should be fine

You're doing it backwards but as stated above, if there are no errors you should be ok. I'd have run DBAN on it if bought used.
Since you've already put 500gb on it with no issues it's probably fine.
