BRICK
Made out of Lego, brah

UoPsIh.jpg

So I decided that cases are too expensive and that I'd rather make something unique.

Things to do:
1. Buy the pieces
2. Build the damn thing
3. Put in my components
4. Bask in its awesomeness (in progress)

Table of contents:
1. Testing and prototyping
2. Receiving parts
3. The built case
4. Test fitting motherboard and power supply
5. Functioning but still not complete
6. Completed pictures

Version 2

7. Time for a redesign
8. Frame is constructed
9. Parts and test fitting
10. Installing hardware and water cooling gear
11. Leak testing and final pictures
12. Temperature results
13. Second graphics card, new ssd, and new tubing

^^thanks.

Update Number 1:
A crude prototype. Ignore the colors, I need to buy parts.

Despite its crudeness and the fact that its missing a couple sides, its pretty sturdy.

I want to make as much as I can out of Legos, so that means I needed to find a way to mount my drives.

The drives will attach to something like a drive module, and the module will attach to the four blue bars on the right of the case.

Nice! Very creative

Might be a little easier if the case wasnt a standard tower (standing up) but laying down. Mounting the motherboard and gpus may be difficult.

If you have those rubber bands that came with legos, may want to use those to do a suspended hard drive mount. Sound dampening

Will be watching this for sure

Are you going to cheat and use acetone to fuse the blocks like Legoland?

Looks like a fun build, thumbs up.

All my rubber bands are dry rotted and broken

. I was thinking of having the drives rest on some rubber Lego pneumatic tubing, but I'll figure that out when everything is built.

The motherboard is going on a piece of plexiglass/lexan/acyrlic/something and then that is getting attached to the Legos. My other option would be to get one of those giant lego base plates make it into a motherboard tray. And the computer is going next to a desk so tower orientation is necessary

This is awesome man. I still have a huge bucket of Legos in my basement from when I was a kid. Maybe I should make something like this and sell it for mad $$ on eBay. Lol.
