BSOD after 40min of Prime95

Hey guys,

Just a real quick post, can someone tell if it is common to get the blue screen of death while running prime95?

I'm testing for my 4ghz oc, i can pass OCCT, but Prime usually runs into the BSOD after about 40min to an hour. I know my voltages are low for the oc but i fugure Prime95 should let me know, not blue screen.

Specs:

CPU Clock Ratio: 20x
QPI Link Speed: 36x
BASE Clock: Enabled
Clock FQ: 200
Uncore Frequency: 17x
Performance Enhance: Turbo
Sys Mem Multiplier: 8.0
Dram Timing: Auto

LoadLine: enabled
CPU vCore: 1.26250v
QPI/VTT: 1.20v
IOH Core: 1.120v
Dram Voltage: 1.64v
CPU PLL 1.800V

Advanced CPU Features:
Intel Turbo Boost Tech. [Disabled]
CPU Cores Enabled [All]
CPU Multi Threading [Enabled]
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) [Disabled]
C3/C6/C7 State Support [Diabled]
CPU Thermal Monitor [Enabled]
CPU Eist Function [Disabled]
Virtualization Technology [Enabled]
Bi-directional PROCHOT [Enabled]

All power assist/saving features disabled in bios.

Cheers.

In my case if the volts are too low it will BSOD, if it's moderately low it will just error the worker.

Or when I play with GTL Ref Lanes.

Ok thanks i'll see what happens, i'll increase my voltages a bit more.

What Prime test were you running?
Still no luck, same BSOD after about 1 hour of small FFT's.

New setting had same result:

CPU Vcore: 1.26250v
QPI/VTT: 1.30v
IOH Core: 1.20v
Dram Voltage: 1.64v

Am i really running my voltage for the VCore to low? I can Pass OCCT no problem, but Prime keeps crashing...

Screen cap of BSOD

I am unable to get the x21 without enabling some sort of intel turbo boost (can't remember the exact term here). I know the x20 is a bit more unstable, then the x19... but i also want to hit 4ghz easier and the x20 gets me there while keeping my base clock 200 and no higher.

What would you advise?

Just an update, i've had to increase my vCore to 1.300v, so far stable but i need longer Prime95 testing.

Thanks for the info on Turbo, it mislead me since it does not show the 21X multiplier afftec in your bios but rather when in windows.

Thanks everyone. Coming close to a stable oc finally.
