This will be my first build so im pretty pumped, I suspect my current ram will work with my new board since it is 184pin but will just be a little slower then pc3200?

Im hoping when I get a job I can update this pretty easily the GPU and the Mem, and maybe the PSU depending on what GPU I decide on

Hi, I'm a long time WoW player and have had it on 4 systems thus far.

Recommendation for your build:
1. WoW will run just fine on a 1.5Ghz AMD you can skimp there and then...
2. Beef up the video card. X700? Honestly? /shudder Go for a X850 at least if not a X1300.
3. The rosewill case comes with a power supply is 30W worth $30?? For the video card and hardware you won't need 30 more watts. Add the savings to beefing up the video card.

Other than that plan on paying for more RAM when the Krapston Value dies in about 3 months. Also 512MB in WoW is not too good. Don't plan on making trips into towns?

EDIT: Try for a MSI Value board around $40 and a AMD 3200+ then get a cheapy case for $20 and a decent PSU for $40. Next get a 2x512MB DDR400 Value kit from BuffuloTech. Again X700 in wow = beat head into desk. 1300 ATI or 6600 NV should be your low point if you ever hope to turn the details up to medium.

Hehe back again did some more checking around. Here you'll like this if you're on a strict budget. I'm using Tigerdirect. I'm sure you can find similar stuff on Newegg, but right now I can't get to newegg and sales/support/prices are about the same between them anyhow.

MSI RD480 Neo2-FI Socket 939 Barebone Kit / AMD Athlon 64 3700+ - $150
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...727804&CatId=0
Comes with everything cept a Video Card, Memory, and Hard Drive.

HIS X1300 256MB PCIe - $70.00
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...687687&CatId=0
ATI card... meh. I guess if it's your bag..

Crucial Dual Channel Kit (2x512MB) DDR400 - $115
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...558798&CatId=0
Love crucial, never crapped out on me. Went to this after my Kingston died for the 2nd time.

Western Digital 250GB Sata 3.0G/s - $80
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...585391&CatId=0
WD drive, nuff said.

Total = $415
I think that's in your price range

Have any recommendations for a NV under $130 that will hold me over? >_>

I must admit I'm not up on the latest ATI stuff. Last ATI card I had was an ATI Rage Pro.

If you want one with an Nvidia card here's this 7600GTOC. It's around $150 but with the mail-in rebate comes to $80, not a bad deal if you can pay the initial cash up front.

Ok I got some cash $211 dollers what do you recommend I was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150209
now

XFX PVT71PUDD3 GeForce 7900GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

Should I go down from that and pick up a 1 gig stick and get a diffrent card?

Like i said I think my 2 sticks of 512mb PC2700 184 pin in my compaq should work with the PC 3200 184pin slots.

There is also a
XFX PVT71PUDP3 GeForce 7900GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 EXTREME Video Card - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150202

for 10$ cheaper lol

Nice! I played WoW for two years. That rig will be plenty and the ability to add another 1GB will help. I had:

-ATi X800XL [Arctic Cooling ATi Silencer 5]
-AMD Athlon64 X2 4400+ Toledo [2.4GHz]
-4x512MB of OCZ Platinum Ram [DDR 600]

I ran World of Warcraft maximum settings, including every single option that optimized performance, not speed, and my setup didn't even break a sweat. I ran WoW at 1280x1024 running slightly over 70FPS constantly, highs in 110's area, lows crept down to 40's in Town.
