Budget build turned scrapper

Okay, I started out building a 600$ budget rig for a friend and then he said he wanted it to be 500$. When I got everything priced on newegg at 500$ he wants me to shave the price some more.

I have resulted to ebay and now I'll show you what I have in it.

Biostar mobo 560 A2+ at approx 45$ ( bought from a fellow OCN'er and I haven't been able to use it because it has a modded bios for the original phenom cpu ONLY )

phenom x3 8450 2.1ghz 42$ from ebay
-I decided to get an original phenom chip to utilize this board and to save him some money...it gets a board that I can't use out of the way and saves him money =)

Memory 2X2GB OCZ- purchased some memory from a fellow member today for 60$

9800gt - 80$ courtesy of ebay

Now for the case and psu (420W), he likes this from newegg 49.99 free ship
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156137

now he only needs a HD and a CD/DVD Burner. Both of those combined I am assuming will be 80$ max

45 + 60 + 80 + 42 + 50 + 80 = 357

So for 357$ do you guys think that will be a decent "budget" build? He won't be playing many games at all...at most he'll play CS:S and L4D/L4D2. It seems like it should play these games well enough to me.

Thanks for the input in advance!

Yeah, that should run L4D2/other source games decently.

I wouldn't trust the PSU, but I've used Raidmax + CPU combos (real cheap) before for super budget builds and they've held.

It doesn't really matter to me if it holds up...if it messes up then he'll have to buy a better one. I've already suggested this but he's gonna cut every corner possible unless I twist his arm.
Let him go he will learn when the psu explodes on him.

you get what you pay for... and that is pure crap...
A lot of people just want to spend as little as they can on their computer, heck, some people just want to spend as little possible on everything in their life. I say that these people know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Not my line of course.

Anyway, that looks fine, let him go with the cheap crap and who knows, it might just last 4 or 5 years.

This
it isn't worth cheaping out on computers, it just bites you down the track. Ask him if you can at least invest in a good PSU (corsair) that could be used several times.
