Hey guys,

I'm wanting to get better photos out of my 450D for things like computer parts, so i have decide to invest a max of around £60-£70 in a budget lighting setup! I have done a little research into things like softboxes and reflectors etc and so this is what i have come up with:

And then i can use some white heavy paper (already got) as a surface and backdrop. What do you think? Would this be good enough?

With a limited budget this is a decent setup. I just dont about the quality of the lamp and stand. The softbox and reflectors are fine. However i am worried you may find the stand and light disappointing with respect to quality once you finally get them. Have you considered getting a flash for your 450 and just using the softbox with that. Another cheaper DIY option is to build your own lightbox and use 3 desk lamps from walmart. Thats what i do for my ebay stuff.
Lightbox is not an option, would have to be huge to fit a pc case in! I have read a few reviews of the lamp, looks fairly decent, as for the stand, it just needs to hold the light tbh, i won't be moving it around loads and doing photo shoots and stuff, just light work at home.

Will that light connect to my 450D for the auto flash ok?
Buy these:

And a few pieces of poster board, foam board, and light bulbs (100w)

Total setup would cost you about $40.. 25ish pounds and work very well for what you need, plus you don't need to deal with strobes, which if you don't know how to use properly, they will deliver poor results.
