Hi,
Just about to build a quiet and mildly overclocked PC on a shoestring.
First the proposed build:
Asus Z170P
i5 6600K
be-quiet Pure Rock CPU cooler
Corsair 2x4GB DDR4 3000MHz
Corsair VS550 watt PSU
Game Max Silent (http://www.gamemax.uk/products_168_108.html)
I'll also put the following in that are already owned:
AMD 7870 tahiti LE GPU
Samsung 840 Pro 128GB
some other SATA HDD lying around
My intention is to OC the 6600K to 4.4 if possible (up from 3.5).
My concern is the case. It looks nice and simple with a solid "front door", has sound proofing and enough room for my kit. But does that sound proofing and front door compromise airflow to the extent that the 6600K won't OC well?
Also, later this year I'll be looking to put an nvidia 980 or equivalent and a PCIe NVMe - could these heat things up too much for a sound proofed case?
Cheers
Boz
