Build for thedarkknight's dad. Just used for gaming and menial tasks. It is made so there is plenty room for upgrades: CPU, RAM, extra video card, etc. The PSU has a $50 mir.

Let me know what can be improved. We also still need a case but need to see what he is looking for.

That looks good. You may want a better CPU heatsink though if he's overclocking.

Looks like a pretty solid build to me. What cases are you looking at?

I'd recommend one of those. The difference youll notice with the quad core will be amazing, and well worth it. I don't know what your budget is, but you dont need to spend so much on the motherboard.

This combo for many orders of magnitude of win. 955, GD70 and 4GB DDR3-1600. Only about $50 more than your CPU/MB/RAM.

That PSU is dated and expensive. This Antec TP750 for more win:

OP has been updated with new choices. His dad figured that if he was going to have a gaming computer, might as well get a gaming case.
The MB, RAM, CPU are a combo deal. He won't be overclocking.
