I have some components sitting around that are begging to be put into a machine. My wife is currently entering her second year of Nurse Practitioner so plenty of papers and school work are in her future (the next year or so for certain). She also enjoys playing league of legends and just recently started playing Diablo 3 with me. She also enjoys some steam games. She has her laptop and access to both my pc so this will be a bulid for her to get away to do homework and also for her to game when my son is here. Diablo 3 just isn't fun on a laptop.

WD 500gb bevt 2.5"

Only $30 more than the 6300 and more cores for gaming and multitasking. What would you suggest.

looks good to me the psu is a bit overkill for that setup but thats about it

would also consider the 8320E which is a 95w part and should run a little cooler

6300 is a great CPU and lower priced than the 8320, this lets you upgrade the motherboard a bit. Got the RAM as I have red Ripjaws X and they have never given me an issue. STEAR CLEAR OF XPEVIA CASES. I have had a few and I will tell you that the fit and finish of the 3 that I have had was terrible. Paint faded and rubbed off, sharp edges on the metal inside. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. I went with the BitFenix Neos in White and Purple, Better looking case IMO and of course better quality. It looks like it means business with a feminine touch.

Noticing that your other rig is also AMD and you already seem to enjoy it. it seems to be ok. just thinking for any heavier use most would advise going with intel as the i5 is a beast but still not as cheap. Your wife would probably not notice the difference anyway

She likes the purple case. Now I need 2 cheap monitors preferably white.

Why people come in amd build forum suggesting Intel I'll never know. I have a i7 and enjoy it. However a 8320+970a-ud3 is still $20 less than the i5 alone. I do not see a i5 being worth $100 more than the 8320 when they both play games great but the AMD is $100 cheaper which allows cosmetic options for the female or a better GPU for the budget conscious

The 6300 would be good enough, but if the $30 is inconsequential to you, then the 8320 does offer you more multitasking and multicore performance. You chose the best mobo for this job and the RAM is fine, too. And I presume you already know that the 212 Evo can't push an OC on Vishera beyond about 4.4 GHz, not that you really need to on a build like this anyway.

Not a whole heck of a lot. besides if you are going for just overclocking you would need more than half the air coolers can offer anyway. hyper 212 will do the wife just fine

I have the Hyper 212+ on my 1090T, which produces a lot of heat. More than the 8320 or the 6300 I believe. Its a great little cooler.

This.

If you want a better cooler, you'll have to step up to one of the big air coolers like the Noctua D14 or Phanteks TC14PE, but those run in the $75-100 price range most of the time, and you don't need that for this build, anyway. A closed loop like an H100 is also a possibility, but again, I'd call it an unnecessary expense here. Your call, though.

An octocore Vishera makes way more heat than a Thuban. I was able to hit 3.7 on a 1035T (1.1 GHz OC) with a 212 Plus, but the same cooler could only make it to 4.4 on an 8350, and a lot of other people have had similar experiences.

There's nothing wrong with it, which is why it's been so popular for so long, but it does have its limitations.

My 8350+h80i maxes at 4.5g. I did a build of 8320+hyper212+ non evo that did 4.5 on lower volts and not much hotter
