Nice, I'm guessing you are building these (at least partially) from parts that you have lying around?

No,

I just have the hard drives and case 1 laying around. everything has been shipped out today.

Seriously.. Who just happens to have 2x Xeon quads laying around?

my question really comes down to, are you trying to do more GPU2 or SMP? are you trying to get more points? if its only for more points, you don't need xeons.. find a reliable mobo that has 3-4 pcie slots and get gpus instead and use a cheap dual core.

..... Im considering alternating between GPU and CPU folding.

Yeah those two Xeons are the reason I said partially. I just assumed since the parts are different on each computer (mostly) that you had at least some of them already from previous uses. Might I ask why both are so different?

If you're looking for PPD, then you might consider going for a 1 board with more GPU's.. better performance per watt as well as points per day.

However, SMP and GPU folding analyze different operations, so its important that all front are being folded on...

from a logistic standpoint, it looks fine.. just re-consider the lower-end/wattage OCZ PSU's.. they very often don't put out stable wattage.
Corsair is a nice piece for a solid price in the 500-550 Watt range

Heh, I've got 2 4x Xeon Dell PowerEdges sitting behind me as well as 4 2GHz Xeons sitting in an anti-stat on the shelf

ah that'll work great. though, i would've said to find a mobo that uses 2 pcie then, cause you could have it as... 2xgpu plus 1 smp.. or even 2xgpu and 2xsmp
Thanks for comments guys, This is just the start of my farm. I expect an estimation of 2 new rigs added per week and maybe up to 4 more gpu's added per week.

There is still more to come.
this is the first of many build logs

i could always order 2 more boards tonight and 2x Qx9650s.. I have money you know

In the am I will be ordering the following since i saw another log

im considering buying

2x X2 5000+
2x 790FX
8x 8800GTS 512's
2x 750 PCPNC
