You can also buy connectors that change the link size. They are called reducers. Shop around for the best price, you can find them in plastic and in brass... Brass Reducer

360mm of rad is enough to cool a Phenom2 and a 7870, yup.

Can't help with that but with the 1/4 tubing and no need for an additional pump you can be very creative in setting everything up.

I'm going to need to redo my tubing soon and I was looking to move to 1/4 tubing myself.
The cheapo tubing from Homedepot has clouded pretty badly, but otherwise the water still looks clear and cooling is fine. I had always planned to do some creative assembly anyways and the smaller tubing will allow for interesting pathways.

Hey guys. Updated the main page to be a little more formal.
I've redone my tubing using Duerelene and moved to using 1/4 ID and 3/8 ID to limit the modded barbs. The old loop lasted a whole year with no issues, save for plasticizer in the tubing, however it didn't cause any issues in the loop or affect cooling. Just looked bad.

As much as I wanted to run tubing in "interesting way" I found myself stuck. I did move one rad around a little, which added more tubing, some may like it others probably won't, as far as appearances go. Just part of the fun I guess!

I also feel like I need a different reservoir to really get creative with the tubing layout. The 300R is limited to where I can run things and still put the panels back on.

Next stages are to create a cooling plate for my GPU heat plate over the PCB. With a block only cooling the Die that PCB plate cooks!
I was inspired by a modder Mike in the "The Mod" discussion where he created a copper plate and tubing to create his own water block. I plan to do something similar!

I've also got a video cooking showing when I redid my loop. I think it would be helpful to show others how easy or hard it is, a totally raw video, with no prep, just an idea, and an hour of time

Nice!

In trying to quiet some noisy 1250 pumps, I seems to have removed any ability they had to pump fluid (on the plus side - it is a heap quieter!) but given that the machine now runs to hot within minutes, I will be running a similar experiment on the 620's older, older brother this week. I'll keep the camera handy and upload my progress!
