Hello!

So I am FINALLY going to do the upgrade I have been wanting to do for a while. I've got an idea as to what I will be purchasing, but wanted to get some eyes on it and see if most think that it's a good idea to go with the stuff I've picked so far.

First of all... this is what my current set up looks like right now... here. As you can see... things are not optimal. Everything is quite cramped and I hate having my 360mm rad up on top of the case. It just looks terrible.

I've always wanted to get an actual water cooling case... and I did! I went with the 800D and it's incredible how large it is!

Well, as you saw my current set up... I will be moving everything over into the new case. Except for the 2 120mm rads, motherboard, CPU and Ram. I will be swapping the motherboard for a z77 extreme 6 ASRock and a 3770K. The two 120mm rads will get replaced by the 140mm rads for exhaust and at the bottom.

So here is the list of everything that I have chosen so far... I still need to pick out a fan controller and also what kind of thermal paste I will be using. I'd love some suggestions on those two. Also as I mentioned above. I'd like to get some opinions on what I have chosen. So? What do you guys think?!

I will be updating this thread with pictures of stuff as I receive them... also with shots of the build once I start to work on it. By looking at build threads is the way that I was able to get started with WC and I'm sure it'll help someone else.

So here is everything!!! Woohoo!!!! Already have a couple of snags though... nothing that a step drill won't solve though. Stuff is in!

Just a quick update. I delided my 3770k and am getting temperatures in the low 60s while running 4.7Ghz at 1.36v. Here's some pics of the process:

Say hello!!

Vice I found at HD for around $24 bucks

Vice... say hello to wood!

Hammer what are you doing down there?!

POP! Needed the help of the dumb bells to hold the vice in place.

Well... I just went ahead and ordered everything.

I decided not to use a fan controller. I want everything to be as neat as possible inside and the fan controllers will just add a ton of wires more to make it harder for me. I'm sure I'll be able to control most fans from within the mother board. So I'm not worried about it. If it comes down to it... I'll get a fan controller after the fact.

Thanks guys!

I've been looking around at other builds and some YT vids on getting the rivots out for the bottom HDD rack... and it doesn't seem THAT hard. I was against it at first, but now I'm sort of kicking my self for not getting a 240 rad for the bottom.

I'll be posting some pics of what I have right now later today. Mainly the case, mother board and CPU. I'm also going to try delidding my 3770k and will post some pics of that too.

Yea. So do I. What killed me the most with this build, was having the case for the last month or so. Just measuring and looking at it most of the time.

Thanks guys!

I'm looking at taking the rivets off now...

anyone done it here and think that it's easy? I'm just afraid of bending anything and making it look crappy.

I will also try to get some type of plate to cover the bottom PSU section. Seems so odd that it's visible through the window.

It's really easy. An 1/8" drill bit is perfect for removing them. The ones you can't access with a drill, take a metal putty knife, put it on the head of the rivet and smack it with a hammer. It will pop the head off then you can push the rest through the hole. Or if you have a dremel you can grind the rivet heads off just as easy. There are a few different tutorials I've seen on YouTube all using different methods
Coldzero sells PSU bay covers, but their site is currently down for maintenance. Or you can make your own out of thin sheet metal then paint it. I had a spare solid side panel from when I bought the case(I got a free windowed panel upgrade) that I cut up to make my PSU cover
