Well I have been wanting to do this for years and finally it begins.... I started out by buying a running rig off craigslist because I didnt want to be sitting with parts in boxes for 2 months while I made the dough to buy parts 1 at a time... what I got out of that second hand rig was only a few weeks of gaming and some cable management experience along with an I5 3570k and some vengeance ram.. by the time all is done those will be the only things left from the used rig.
This weekend I went out and got a new NZXT Switch 810 case in white.
Also picked up...
4 more NZXT 140 mm case fans
NZXT sleeved 24 pin cable extension.

I moved all the parts into the new case and did what I could with the cables from the non modular antec 650 watt psu.
parts left to upgrade are...
Motherboard
Graphics
cpu cooler
power supply

Meanwhile here are some pics of how it sits now waiting for my tax return cash so I can finish.

Getting the 3 NZXT fans in the top of the case was tricky.. required dexterity and a small ratchet with a screwdriver bit on it to get the screws into the frontmost fan.. I wanted them there so I will have push/pull on the new Swiftech H220 when it comes out.

And thats it for now but soon she will be much better.. here is a list of the remaining parts to be purchased soon.
MSI Mpower
MSI GTX 680 Lightning
Swiftech H220
Cosair AX750

Thanks for looking at my WIP...

Budget you say...lol If budget is under 2k then yeah this is budget..... but not after I add 6 more Hard drives and the rest of the parts...it will be closer to 3k....
I will still be adding the cooler Swiftech h220, The ram 16GB Kingston Hyper X Beast, The Soundcard Creative Soundblaster Z. And 6 more 2TB wd Green drives...
Planned case Mods (so far) are Smoked glass side panel widow... Though we will see what time brings.

Okay then budget wasnt the correct word. Lets call it high end thrifty build. I just like it when old computers get reused in some way or another.

Yeah honestly I lost out a little when I bought the used rig because the 3570k dropped in price like that same week....But I was being impatient and wanted instant gratification... ah well live and learn. At least the chip seems decent. thanks for the interest man I know its not a super computer but its my baby and im happy with it thus far. I am highly interested in progressing far beyond what it is now but I have to let it come naturally.... I have always been a huge tinkerer though so this hobby fits well..keep posted for updates guys.
