BUILD ORIGINATION
Welcome to my first build log! I originally got hooked on researching and building computers in late 2011 when I saw the Thermaltake Level 10 GT Case, and being one of those ignorant little teenagers who like glowing lights (No offense to any one who does), and I decided I wanted to build a computer. For the past year and a half now, I've tried to learn all I can from OCN, and PCpartpicker forums. Both have been a great help!! I've built two other lower scale builds on air before, but this is my first Water cooled build, and my first build over one grand (and two). Since the beginning, my tastes have changed a little...

BUILD CONCEPT
I sort of imagined this build being a baby size, red white and black themed build that was similar to the 900CSQ on here (and yes, I had this plan before he built it), the thing that I was aiming for that I found to be most similar was the "atmosphere" of the build. The differences between color and size will include different blocks (EK Clean Plexi Blocks), the actual parts, and this probably won't look quite as professional in all honesty, even though I intend to make it the best it can be!

EDIT: This build has created an atmosphere of it's own that I could have never imagined, and I've learned to grasp concepts from other builds, but put twists on them to make it your own unique blend of ideas.

So this case is going to be pretty densely packed, and I don't have an exact plan for where everything is going to go, because if I did, I'm sure it would end up changing anyway. I'm fairly confident there will be room for everything and if there isn't, I intend to make room for it. Also, later after I have a little more money, I do intend to custom sleeve all my cables with red, black, and white heatshrinkless sleeving made by Lutroo.

I'll try to respond to all I can, and update with photo's as often as I can, but I do have a pretty busy summer ahead of me, so I may have chunks where there is no progress, but I'll alert you before then. I'll be out of town for 6 out of the 10 weeks in summer I have.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: If you see or know of any article pertaining to something about my build, or have ANY advice, thoughts, or suggestions, please share it with me so I can learn how to make this the best of my AND your knowledge (This includes any knowledge on getting a good photoshoot for the final pictures)! Thanks for all your support!!

I got my little Nikon point and shoot out to get a couple pics of the fans, and here's how they turned out in my little makeshift photobooth (I'll work on improving it):
They are 6 SP120 High Performance and 2 AF120 High Performance Fans

The 350D comes tomorrow! Also, once my sister gets back in town, I should be able to get a couple shots with her DSLR camera!

UPDATE!!!!!!!
The Corsair 350D came and it is great! The quality is perfect, and it arrived with no harm done, and on time from amazon. It came with a 140 fan in the front and a 120 fan in the back, but I plan on removing both and replacing them with the SP and AF fans. The 350D:
The box wasn't that big:

It came with the regular packaging:

The 350D!!:

The interior is spacious, and looks just like I imagined it:

I already spotted the first potential problem, the power supply mount area has little bumps, do you think I should shave those down to fit the rad or put the rad on top of them?

Well, overall so far I'm super exited for how this will turn out. My only disappointment so far is the photography. I should be able to use the DSLR by tomorrow, and I'm still experimenting with setups and lighting. Any input on the bottom rad mount? Thanks! Now I'm hesitant on what to do: Since the motherboard isn't available to buy yet, I don't really want to order any of the components because I wont be able to test them to see if they work. Should I order the water loop while waiting?

Maybe I worded it wrong. Always nice to have more help than just me on a build like this!

Plans may have changed a little bit. After measuring the interior dimensions, It is physically impossible to fit a 360mm rad anywhere in the case except diagonally from the bottom front to the top back which I'm not going to do. Instead, I thought, maybe I could put a 240 in front, and a 120 on the bottom of the case between the rad and the PSU. I think I could fit it if I had a push 60mm rad in front, then the 120, then the PSU and cables. Would it be better to have 360mm of rad space that's 60mm thick, or 240mm of rad space that's 80mm thick (in front)?

Major noob mistake: forgot to incorporate res and pump into spacing!!!, might have to forget the 120mm rad idea, unless anyone can come up with places to fit a mod kit mcp 655 and at least a 150mm tube res!

Well, I switched locations of where I take photo's to my basement:

What I'm trying to work in, there is one yellow light directly above where I'm taking it from:

Taking the photo's with an Olympus point and shoot now, went from this:

To this, after adjusting to the camera and settings after a bit:

My newegg order has been shipped from New Jersey (I'm in Ohio), The NCIX order was shipped, but I can't track it, and the Amazon order should be shipped by the end of today. Everything should be here by Saturday is my geuss. I'm going to Microcenter Thursday or Friday to pick up the CPU, and I'll make my water cooling orders after I assemble the Hardware and look at the spacing. The tubing that I want right now (E22 Acrylic) is out of stock and I can't find it ANYWHERE besides PPC!

I was thinking of getting the 350D for my next build as well, also with acrylic tubing. Your best bet I believe is a 240 on top with only push OR pull config with the fans below the rad, and a 240 rad in front with a push config since there is space inside the front behind the fan filter for the fans. You will need very thin rads, I believe you will need to get 30mm rads for this build, but am not sure until I get my case and get some measurements since it will be very tight. Then with the gtx 780 which is a 10.5" card, I believe I will have the space to put in a cylinder reservoir mounted either on a MCP655 kit or mounted directly on the radiator. Although I think there may not be enough space for the 655 tube top kit due to its diameter, and may go for a thinner reservoir with a pump laying in front of the power supply.

All that aside, if you gave me very accurate measurements of the case, I could help find the exact dimensions of everything to see what you can fit in there, and make it look good in the process.

Or you could just do all the 120's and go with a bay reservoir in your two bays. I personally don't want to do this though as I don't like the look of it.

Thanks for all the feedback Gondus!, I would be happy to do any measurements for you. I planned on going with a 30mm thick rad on top and an 80 in the front, both of them in push configuration only.

An 80mm will fit in front if you plan on placing the reservoir in the 5.25 bays (probably a res/pump combo). Otherwise you will need to choose a 30mm rad for the front also. It all comes down to the length from the expansion slot openings to the very front of the case where the rad will be placed. But if you get a shorter card you can easily fit more into the case, but currently the only good shorter card is the gtx 670 which doesn't give me the performance I want.

I think the pump could fit on top of the powers supply and right below the GPU, but that would cut off SLI possibilities. The res might fit horizontally between the GPU and the front Rad. What do you think?

It wont fit if you choose a 80mm rad in the front that's for sure, because all tube reservoirs are at least 50mm in diameter. And even with the the slim rad its a very VERY tight fit with a standard 10.5" video-card.

Everything being said, it all comes down from the space from the PCI slot openings to the inner front of the case where the rad will be placed, which I have no idea on the length.

You could fit a small reservoir and a pump under the card beside the PSU, but that wouldn't look nice.

On the Pump above the power supply, I think that would be a bad idea, if something does start leaking after extended use, it will probably be the pump and not any of your connections which would leak right off the bat if there was issue. A pump on top of a PSU is a fire hazard to me.
