I decided to complete a major home office overhaul. This is a bedroom that is about 11 x 12 with a closet and 2 windows with decent views.

The walls had paneling placed over them and a standard sliding door closet where one door slides behind the other.

I want to fit two desks in the office with a small sofa and a TV.

A major part of the remodel is the closet, I will install two pocket doors in the closet so the doors will open and allow me to have a big screen and much of my electronics hiding.

This is an old house so I installed new lighting, a second electrical circuit, CAT 6 wiring, ETC.

GoHigh,

I agree, since I only had 2 outlets and the old windows would not open I had to get things going. Those photos were on Friday, these are from Saturday. I will get the sheet rock going soon.

So I am making progress. I am using cabinet grade plywood for the pocket door walls even though I will paint them. It makes them more ridged and resist cracks from people leaning on them/ door opening into it. Cost $40 a sheet instead of $6 for sheet rock but not having to repair cracks will be worth it.

drywall is easier to repair if it breaks though. How are you going to repair a hole in a wooden wall? You'd have to replace the whole thing.
Unless you drill a hole in it someone would have to work really hard to make a hole in 1/2 in birch hardwood. Just like a kitchen cabinet.

Within a few weeks or less. I work full time, have a 4 and 6 year old so I have to work on it at odd hours. I am doing all of the work. I was just spackling a few minutes ago... I need to run the drill now but dont want to wake anyone so I am surfin...

I am motivated to pull the new TV out of the box.

LOL, American style houses look so fun to mod. Unlike mine which is made out of concrete and bricks

, hell I could not find any worker equipped with a drill bit long enough to go trough an exterior wall for my internet cable.

But I don't have to worry about insect and water
