Ghost of Grey Fox

Hey all, this is my build log for my Metal Gear Solid themed computer. I'm a huge MGS fan and have wanted to do some sort of Metal Gear themed computer for some time now and thanks to the people at Parvum Systems I was able to finally get this ball rolling.

The main purpose for bad boy will be a computer for the man cave/I done F'ed up room:rolleyes: and a rig a can take to LAN's, the Caselabs SMA8 is a great case, just a little hard to take places

Planned Spec's

Intel i7 4790k

MSI Z97M Gaming LGA 1150

EVGA GTX 970

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB

CORSAIR RM650

SAMSUNG 840 EVO 500G

Cooling

EK-XRES 140 DDC 3.2 PWM

Swiftech APOGEE XLC

Watercool HEATKILLER GPU-X³

Alphacool 240

Alphacool 160

Aquacomputer Aquaero 6

Between life and work, mostly work, this is probably going to be a long build log but hopefully will be done for PDXLAN 26 in July. 6 months should be enough time.... right.....

So first off. THE CASE

Heads up, a lot of people don't really check the case mod forums (I never do at least.), so a better place to put it might be the Intel Build Logs or the Case Mod Work Logs section.

Can't wait to see what you do with this beauty of a case, though.

Thanks for the subs!

Thanks for the advice, so how do I go about moving the thread?

Haha, I'm trying, work has been unseasonably busy, finished the basement so moved the man cave down there.

Then made a hungover New Years purchase that took time away...

But I do have a small update. Been playing with placement and spacing and finding that fitting 2 radiators in my case is going to be one tight squeeze. Because of the design of the front, I cant have a radiator up front so was planning on having a small 160 radiator in back. Now wondering if I can just get by with a 240.

That is just a radiator I had around and a 60mm rad. but with 45mm, with a fan it'll be around that.
Which give me about 60mm from the back of the radiator to the back of the case.

Both radiators should be here next week so i'll actually be able to test fit.

So until they get here I'm playing with where to mount the Aquaero 6. I wasn't planning on using one but got one back on warranty so I had it around. At the moment I'm liking the idea of cutting a area on the power supply side and having it there.

Not sure if I'll have it recessed, or making it flush with the face plate.

Hopefully will have time to work on it this weekend, hopefully.
