Building a budget rig, suggestions?

Hi, I'm new here, well, been lurking a while, but the point is, I'm going to be building a budget rig.

I need some help, because as good as I am compared to most of the people I know when it comes to computers, I don't think I'm that good compared to most of the people on this forum, so I'm here to ask for some advice building my rig. I'll need it to do some light school work, web browsing, and mild gaming on it. I'm not partial to brand or processors, but I'd like the specs to meet at least the following:

Price range: No more than $350 if possible. (No monitor, I've got one, a 20" Acer with DVI and D-sub inputs)
Proc speed: More than 2Ghz
RAM: 2 gigs or more
Hard Drive capacity: Between 150 and 500 gigs
GFX Card: Either crossfire or SLI support in case I upgrade in the future would be nice
Wireless: G or N... which ever is easier to incorporate

Anything else I should add?

Edit: Oh yeah, I have an upgrade copy of Win 7 and a RC build... So I should just be able to install the RC, then clean install the upgrade over the RC... o.o Assuming I can deactivate the stupid thing... anyway, point is I don't need an OS.

Thanks in advance

Look carefully in our For Sale section of the forum and find yourself a solid, single gpu gaming box that will meet all of your needs. In your price range, you will not find, nor do you need, a crossfire or sli build. You should be able to find a used box that will allow you to play newer games on your current monitor with decent graphics. Obviously, you're not going to play Crysis and such, but you'll be able to enjoy 90% of the games out there.

The only reason I mentioned crossfire or SLI support is in case I upgrade in the future. I certainly don't plan on starting off with it. And as for the For Sale section, I feel a bit safer purchasing new parts whether from in store or Newegg... Not that I think anybody here would try to scam me for a crappy box. I'm just looking for suggested equipment to build a rig in that range.

Here is a $300 budget build I was doing for my GF's parents. You can change mobo, and add a graphics card as needed.

Good Luck

Thanks w4lnuts, looks like a decent build. Although, I think I'd probably get RAM from Fry's... it's cheaper.

I would get it cheaper if I could. But I don't have a Fry's or Micro-Center nearby at all. So newegg it is for me.

Hmm... Too bad for you.

I modified it a bit... Fairly sure that it'll still work... Only changed the case and PSU. I saw a $10 geforce 9400 gt at fry's today, i think i'll try and get one... can get 4 gigs of OCZ, patriot, or crucial for about 60 or 70 bucks there too.
