So here's the list I have put together so far:

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/M...px?ID=13409247

I'm planning on getting a E8500 CPU. I will be using this rig mainly for gaming. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

You realise we have to log in to see your list....Please copy/paste here...

Also, if you want to save some cash get the E8400 instead, price for extra MHz really isn't worth it, put the money towards better quality ram or a GPU...
64bit OS to use that 4GB RAM. HD4870 or 4870x2 for video card. PSU is overkill unles you get an x2.
Looks like a nice build, what mother board? If you're still looking for one the ASUS P5Q series is nice. For graphics card, going by the use you stated, a HD 4850 or better depending on the resolution of your monitor.
err.. get the bolt thru kit for the xigmatek
Hmm I guess certain items got removed when deals expired. I was planning on going with a EVGA 750I FTW mobo and a EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 GPU. Also, I already have the Zigmatek retention bracket in my list, is that what you were talking about?
the list looks good. I would definetly pick up vista home premium 64bit to take advantage of the 4gig of ram and the gpu's ram
No ... we are not allowed to see your personal information. So we cannot access the Thread that you gave us on newegg. Go back to that page and copy the page then paste it in the thread here and we can see it.
I update the list with 64 bit OS and it should show my mobo and GPU now. Thanks for the input thus far. Any opinions of my mobo and GPU choices are welcome.
You're not going to get much help without posting the list so that everyone can read it. Currently, you have to log in with a Newegg account to see the list. Lots of us don't have newegg accounts...

I think at this time in the game ATI video cards are the way to go. The 4870 is one of the Fastest cards right now.
get this case:

and these:

there will be way better cable management and better airflow.

the rest of your build looks great considering you get the e8500!
I would go Quad-Core (I know, he wants it for gaming only, but if you're shooting for the long run, Quad is the way to go), but other than that great.

Everything I've read says Dual outperforms Quad in games right now so I think that's best for me. Plus it seems a better price-performer.

Well technically, they perform the same in games, like the quad doesn't give any advantages over duo, nor the other way around, assuming the clock speed is the same. So like, for example, a 3.0GHz Dual-Core and a 3.0GHz Quad-Core should perform the same in games. The only difference is that the Quads are more expensive. But, like I was saying before, a quad is more future-proof than a duo, just because soon enough developers will start optimizing their software and games for quads, so the quads will outperform the duos.

Yea everything looks fine. What size monitor are you going to be gaming at?

of course a 3ghz quad performs the same/better than a 3ghz dual, but duals overclock better, run cooler, and can achieve higher clock speeds. Higher clock speeds are what really matters, so i say just stick with the e8500. The more accurate comparison is a 3.4ghz quad vs. 4.0ghz dual, the dual outperforming the quad in nearly every game

The E8400, 8500 and 8600's are the king of the hill for 95% of all gaming titles, including going clock for clock against the quads. Why spent extra for a quad if your only gaming?

Your rig is very similar to mine, it'll run well.
nice, one tip-change from the slipstream to an ultra kaze-you wont be dissapointed
