Hi guys,

I'm about to buy a new gpu this winter but I don't know which I should choose. You can see in my sig, that I have a HD4870 with 512MB and its bottlenecking my cpu... So, anyone have a good opinion of what I should buy? =D

2 HD5770 and CF them it is better than 1 5850.
Hmmm... I see you wandering around and posting in every thread, that 2 HD5770 with CF are better than an 5850. But whats with micro stutters? And two HD5770 are about 150$ expensive than 1 HD5850.

EDIT: Playing on a 24'' display.

In the USA 2 5770 about $20 more than 5850 because of price drop. But 2 5770 is little slower than the 5870. 1 5870 can max out very game out there. So 2 5770 is more bang for the buck.

5770 = 160~170 each
5850 = 310 each right now

2 5770 is about the same as 5870
Here a single HD5850 costs about 240€.
A single HD5770 costs about 150€ -> 300€ overall.
You see, that a HD5850 is bout 60€ cheaper as an CF setting.

But the 5870 are about $400. 2 5770 it is cheaper than the 5870.

OP why don't you give us an idea of how much you are wanting to spend and then maybe go from there

you may say two cards are better than one

but why not get the single card, and pay about the same price...and cf down the road

Yeah, good idea xD Overall, I wouldn't spend more than 200€ - max 250€, but thats real the max I can invest.

Yeah, I'm cautious about CF because of micro stutters and overall, I would rather buy a single card because of power and noise than a CF card. But when the performane of a CF spec is so much better, I will risk a look

wait for Nvidia to release then buy as prices will drop.
You think ATI will lower there prices when a new nVidia gpu is realesed? Any date known when this will be?
