Hey guys, i'm currently trying to buy a good new monitor for under $200 AUD I would like to have a 1440p monitor but I can also settle with a 1080p. My current monitor is 1680 x 1050 so anything beyond that is a good upgrade for me ahaha. I hope someone can help me out since I don't know much about monitors!

Need computer specs.

What will the monitor be used for?
What shops are around you that you can buy from?
Can you purchase online?
What kind of GPU do you have so we know what inputs to look for?

Info, info, info.

My computer is rather old but here are the specs for it.

  • Mobo: Asus Striker II Extreme
  • CPU: Core 2 Extreme QX9650
  • GPU: Radeon 7870 GIGABYTE
I think that's all in terms of specs. As for the use of the monitor, I do a decent amount of gaming, rarely play fps or anything like that but I do also do a lot of image editing as well. So I'm looking for a monitor that can handle both or at least manage both for the price range I have given.

I usually buy my pc parts online from these vendors.

  • MSY
  • Mwave
  • Scorptec
  • PC Case Gear

Hope this will help you out!
