I'm about to order a new PSU 600-700 watts and a new samsung 24" monitor.

I am leaning towards gtx285 this one to be exact:

But i just wanted to double check and see if you guys would suggest a different video card between 300-350 price range... or is the 285 the right choice?

also if you want to suggest a PSU between 600-750 watts and 60-100$ feel free

The 285 GTX is definately worth it.It runs cool and doesnt need alot of power and you only require 2 x 6 pin connectors. Its also a great overclocker
I also had your current 8800 gts.Definately a big improvement.

It is a really good PSU

thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure how many amps you need for the gtx285 so it it will run it correct?

If you can afford a 285, go for it you will not regret it imo.
For the PSU, as someone stated earlier, the 650tx is a great PSU for the price with plenty of amps on a single rail, solid if you ask me.

Edit: imo the best PSU out there right now would be the 1000hx

You will NOT want to sli another 285 on that powersuply tho (650tx), it'll come a tad short imo. Especially if you got a couple fans in there and OC everything you can.

or the corsair 750TX has a bit more punch. either the 650 or 750 will run the GTX285.

the 750 wil run SLI GTX 285s better than the 650, but it still might push the limits. there is a 850TX, but its $140.

the GTX285 is a good high-end choice for the GPU

you require a 550 watt minimnum power supply but 650 or 750 would be recommended
