I have a new mobo ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136051) I just put it all together and when i went to fire it up it all started running and there was nothing on my monitor. I looked in at the motherboard and it said c1 on the little display. I searched google and found that it was probably a ram error or something. I don't know how to fix this! I have new ram 2 1GB sticks of ddr2 800 and I installed it in the first 2 slots(or the last 2, I don't really know.) How can i fix this? I know where the cmos jumper is but i don't know what to do with it. Please help me!

Dve228, try this;

01. Shut down system and turn off PSU.
02. Press power button to discharge mobo
03. Jumper Clear CMOS jumper
04. Remove battery
05. Remove all memory
06. Let sit for 15-20min
07. Place 1 stick of mem in system in slot farthest from the CPU.
08. Replace Clear CMOS jumper.
09. Replace battery
10. Turn on PSU
11. Press power button. (if still getting "--" or 1d then "--" then shut down and reboot again. If still same then RMA)
12. If boot occurs (ie FF Led) then enter bios.
13. Load defaults, set date/time, set mem voltage to factory settings
14. F10 save and reboot.
15. If boot occurs then enter bios, make all changes needed
16. F10 save and reboot.
17. If boot occurs (ie FF) then enter bios then shut system down via power switch
18. Place second stick of mem in second slot farthest from CPU.
19. Power on.
20. If boot occurs (ie FF) then hit reset to make sure.
21. If boot occurs then move on to allow windows to boot.

Yup, try with one DIMM. It is most likely a RAM voltage issue.

I'll try this.

The motherboard has 2 clear cmos jumpers(as stated in the manual) and i don't know what to do with them. Also, the first ram slot is the one closest to the cpu. should i put the ram in the first one? And do i have to wait 15 minutes?

EDIT: in your post you mention the code "1d" I"m getting "1c" so was that just a misstype?
PS. sorry for double post
Make sure your AC power is off. Take the jumper from current pin and typically you connect pin 1 and 2 together using the jumper cap. If you have two of those then do it for both (just to be safe). Wait a few seconds then return the jumper caps to normal (pin 2 and 3 together). Turn on AC power and boot. Refer to your MOBO manual.

This solution is for all kinds of errors.

Even easier... just remove the mobo battery.

You said you installed them in your first 2 slots of ram...you have to STAGGER them...so the 1st and 3rd slot..yep what he said Orange slots lol
im going to guess ram as well as c1 is the code for that. im going to say that one stick in your new kit is bad. try both sticks seperatley. and it could be just a silly voltage issue as well.

maddux, good catch

If you have RAM in slots next to each other that is not good and will cause errors. Put your RAM in same colored slots, preferrably in the same colored slots furthest from the CPU fan.

it should let out a long beep followed by another repeating till the computer is turned off. thats what happened on my 680i when i got c1 errors.

My MOBO had this 2 weeks ago. I threw it out because the battery and RAM fix didn't work. Buy the Rampage Formula.
^^sweet help dude
It still isn't working. I tried everything. I'm going to take apart my hp and test the ddr2 ram in it and take a stick from it and put it in the other mobo just to confirm that it is broken. I really don't want to send this thing back to newegg. I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't want to have to rma this thing. Does anyone know of any other way to test this to see if it is definitely the ram for sure?

BTW: this is my first time trying to boot this thing so it isn't a result of any messing with the bios.
Run Memtest86+ to test your RAM. Download iso image, burn iso using your favorite image burning software. Go into Bios and boot from disk. Make sure that your RAM is on stock settings/volts and if Memtest comes back with errors, the RAM may be faulty.

After i put it in my hp computer? Because the other mobo doesn't boot. How could the ram ship with non default settings?
