So I had my chip overclocked to 3.2 GHz. The name of my intel chip sounds cheap, but it actually has 4MB of L2 cache.

With it OC'd it is actually faster than the E6850 that came out not too long ago.

So I ended up OC'ing up to 3.5 from 3.2 and actually gained a good amount of fps in World In Conflict.

I've always been under the impression that my cpu speed was actually letting my 4850 breathe.

Would you guys recken I can gain a nice 20+% fps if I move to an E8400-E8600 and OC it to 4.0+ GHz?

World In Conflict is a CPU intensive game. I don't think you CPU bottlenecks the GPU at all.
