Call of duty 4 Error, Hard Freeze: then Wierd Sound

I keep getting this error on Call of Duty 4: PC




YouTube- Weird Call of Duty 4 Freeze & "trrrrr" sound (hard freeze, no auto reboot)



It freezes and makes a trrrrrr sound. I can't figure it out! Please help. Thanks all.

Sounds like an instability. That looks like a hardware lockup.

Check to make sure your sound, chipset, and GPU drivers are up to date. Even if they are you might want to uninstall, driver clean in safe mode, and reinstall them.

I've updated EVERY driver and still to no avail. What else could it possibly be? I tried reverting my system back to standard clocks and still with no difference. Thanks.

A bad piece of hardware perhaps? Does it do this on anything else? Or have you even played much of anything else lately? lol.

I suppose it COULD be a problem w/ corrupt CoD4, but the only time I've ever has an issue like yours was driver and/or hardware related.
