This thread is plain and simple.

This is not a club.

I just want people to write a quick post about why they like AMD's products.

Ready, Set, Go!

I am in. Read above my avatar lol.

Oh and I like AMD because well they just work. I love ATI and I love AMD chipsets. Oh and they aren't sell outs.

Awesome! I agree with those statements.

I'll be switching to AMD very soon!

i like amd because they have always provided me with a solid product, and that they keep competition going with intel... Not to mention, they keep the budget minded folks in mind when pricing their products it seems. price per performance IMO with them is unmatched!
AMD, quality @ a cheap price. My mums computer (AMD 3500+) still going strong 5 years, she still hasn't formatted once ~.~
AMD because their processors are solid and affordable! easy to build a budget rig

Personally my computer would be a wreck with 5 years of not reformatting!

And jeez, I wish I still had my S939 rig.

i went amd simply because they know how to price it right.

I went AMD b/c i was peer pressured into it and i have to say, I LOVE IT! I have always used intel until now. AMD is cheap, affordable, and fast. Get thread..... AMD will always live on!! Viva La AMD!!!!! lolz
It was fast at the time, and all of the computers I have built are AM2, because it's familiar to me.

I like AMD products for being innovative and inexpensive. They might not be on top, but the precious i7 wouldn't exist if it wasn't for AMD.
I first loved AMD because the old socket A chips destroyed intel clock for clock, (at the time I had a P3 1Ghz chip) then when I decided I needed something better, but for cheap (16 year old kid with min paying job) AMD had the best products for me, for dirt cheap (friend gave me a mobo, and a Duron 1600 was something like 15 bucks on newegg)

then I broke my duron, and once again, AMD was the cheapest solution to upgrade while gaining performance, and has been every time I've had to upgrade my system.

in fact, my mom's S754 Venice 3000 is still running after me owning that chip and overclocking the piss out of it, then swapping it into her system so I could have her newcastle 3200 (which is now mounted on its motherboard on my wall)

there were times when I wanted to switch to intel to get more performance, but EVERY time I've checked prices, I could build an AMD system that would keep up with everything intel had in the same price range. actually, when I finally made the switch to dual core, it was as an emergency because my s754 motherboard started to die, and the cheapest intel dual core cost as much as my entire upgrade (which consisted of a motherboard, cpu, heatsink, and ram)

oh yeah, and I love AMD even more now because AM3 is compatible with AM2

I got with AMD because as engineers, they pull magic tricks out of their A55 with their processors when they barely have money to spend. That to me is awesome. I don't like Intel for the sole fact that they could keep throwing money at a problem and get it done. But AMD is different. They do things with innovation. Not only that but they stand their ground even though they are quite the little company.

Oh and compared to my 920 i7 rig, my AMD is super slick. I guess what I have said is part of the reason why I haven't updated my sig rig.
AMD does it's job perfectly as a good competitior and alternative to a more powerful Intel, that's why I like it.

Very true. The integrated memory controller is one of the greatest innovations for the CPU.

It is quite amazing what they have done recently. They must have some very good engineers. With the R&D budget that AMD has compared to intel, what AMD has accomplished is simply amazing!

I love my AMD builds because of a great stable product. When I was on the blue side of things, my OC was stable some days, others not and I could never get my ram to operate at its proper frequency. I went AMD and never looked back, changing over all the rigs I built to AMD ones. The on-die memory controller works great, and although I could have gone i7, I saved alot of money on a Phenom II that works perfectly for what I need.

Hopefully when Phenom FX comes out, or at most Bulldozer, AMD will have the performance crown again, but even if not, AMD showcased that they can once again be competitive with its Phenom II chips.
Price. That is the only reason why I went AMD this time around

My proc cost $50 (CAD) and nothing intel had in that price range was better (And the budget mobo selection was far better for AMD)
$330 for Xfire board and 45nm unlocked Quad core, can't beat that. I've moved from a 2800+ 754 to the X2 5600+(90nm) AM2, to this Quad and everytime I change I love the move I made. Should be keeping this current rig for a long time besides the GPU which will be changed within a month depending on the 4890 info being true or not

Oh and 400MHz with only changing the multiplier is AMAZING!
I went AMD (socket 754) because the 754 and 939 absolutely destroyed intel at the time....and were the first to offer an affordable 64 bit consumer cpu, as well as the first to have on chip memory controller........suck a nuttt intel

I don't need to pay $$$ just to say i have intel...overrrated
