Can a BFG Tech 650 watt GS PSU run a GTX 260?

Hi guys, I was thinking of buying myself a GTX260 and a new monitor around Christmas and was wondering if my PSU can possibly run the 260?

I'm going to run a single card setup and as for SLI I have no plans of doing it as of yet.

Yup, your PSU will be enough.
yeah i run a 275 (more powerhungry), oced, on a 550w, and bfgs are good.
Thanks for the replies!

It's good to hear my PSU can run it then, I wasn't too sure if it could.
If it can't run it, then I will eat my entire rig including my printer.

You will be fine. I ran my old GTX 260 on a OCZ StealthXStream 500w for a while, it was fine.

Don't forget to drink the ink to wash it all down

Oh, that's a great idea.

Wait: maybe I should switch to water cooling before he tests the GTX 260 on this PSU. That way I'll have plenty to drink.

Wow lol, That's quite the bet you have going there.

A friend of mine is being kind enough and letting me borrow his GTX260 before I go out and buy one. So tomorrow I'll hook it up, I just wonder if the 40 AMP current is enough and not pushing the PSU itself.

My HX520W loves my GTX 260. It has a +12V rail of 40A (480W) too! The GTX 260's box says that the minimum power requirements - which are always pretty bloated - are a 500W power supply with a +12V rating of 36A.

But still, I love how cool your friend is in letting you borrow his!!

I was surprised as well!

I owe him big time for this one that's for sure lol.

And I really appreciate all the help everyone's been!
Thanks guys,

I just hooked up my friends GTX260 and it works like a charm!
