Hello!

I'm going to throw my Msi n460GTX hawk out. So I need a new graphic card and I've been looking at Radeon 7950 (http://dk.msi.com/product/vga/R7950-2PMD3GD5.html). And I'm quite confused if I can use it with my mobo or not.

Since it's PCI 3.0 and I'm currently using PCI 2.0.

I saw on Gigabytes site to see if it could support PCI 3.0 and I found this.

"(All PCI Express x16 slots conform to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)
* To support PCI Express 3.0, you must install an Intel 22nm CPU."

Intel 22nm CPU? ..

And I've been seeing around I need ivy bridge CPU? I'm using Intel I5 2500k sandy bridge?

I'm not a big expert when it comes to PC so sorry for stupid question

Specs
Mobo : Gigabyte z68
CPU : Intel I5 2500k @ 3,3GHz
GPU : Msi n460GTX hawk @ 900 core
Ram : 8 GB DDR3 corsair ram @ 1600MHz
PSU : Corsair 650W

Thanks for the help!

Yes, it will work perfectly fine... PCIe is backwards, forwards, upwards, and downwards compatible.

Why is your 2500k only at 3.3GHz!? Get that to at least 4GHz!

Using stock cooling atm. Want Cooler Master Hyper 212 before overclocking it

The normal one does not come with fasteners for socket 2011, The Evo does.

Sigh...

Yes, But the Non Evo does not include the items you need to mount the cooler on a Socket 2011 CPU, in the Package. But the Evo does...

You are right, Non Evo have some differences from Evo... Starting from a different base and support for 2011
