Can I launch an overclock profile when i play a game?

Hey guys i was wondering if there was a program that could create an overclock profile and then run it on the event of an application launch like a game. I've been checking out rivatuner and i can't find any option to do this. The reason why is because one of my games crashes when i revert to stock whilst all my other games can run on a stable overclock.

This is a really lame reply, so sorry, but, yes that is possible, i dont do alot of ocing so i odnt know how exactly, so dont give up.
yes. but make sure that your oc will still be within range.
Try this.

Make sure your OC is stable before you do this.

thanks zippit but rivatuner only launches oc profiles on events like a temp threshold or something and i want it to launch when a program is executed. anyways thanks for the suggestion!
Use Rivatuner. Create a profile changing shortcut. Save shortcut to a link using Riva and make a batch file to call the profile, then the game in a DOS batch file.

I did this folding. I had stock clocks and [email protected] clocks for my GPU and I did just the above though it takes a bit more than than but not much more.

If you want, I can take some screens and show you easily.
screenies would be very helpful if you got the time Ictinike, unfortunately its getting late so ill check this tomorrow. thanks guys!
Here ya go.. It's long but I think worth it..

First thing you need is to save the OC profile. See Pic 1
Once you have the custom profile saved, you need to create a new Launcher item, See Pic 2
Create a new Regular Item, then choose the profile, See Pic 3
Next, Right Click the launcher item and you'll have 3 options, choose the farthest right option to create a Shortcut Link on your desktop, See Pic 4
Once you have the Shortcut; move it, rename it whatever is easiest (typically I place them in the app/game directory), See Pic 5

Last step is the Batch File.

Create one such as :

Code:

Code:
@ECHO OFF
REM -----------------------------------------------
REM -- Setting Custom RivaTuner Overclock Profile --
REM -----------------------------------------------
CALL "OC PROFILE.LNK"
CALL "YOUR GAME LNK OR EXE"
CALL "YOUR STOCK PROFILE.LNK"
So this applies the OC profile, then executes the game and once the game is finished it sets your clocks BACK (you must create 2 profiles, one stock and one OC)

Another way would be to add an overclock profile to the launcher tab and also add an application to the same item, then all you have to do is right click rivatuner in the tray, click the item in the launcher and your game will launch aswell as your overclock profile.

Quicker than switching profiles manualy and you can just use that to launch the game from then on.

EDIT: Actualy you can assign a keyboard shortcut, so you could launch the game and OC profile just by hitting a key..

Ictinikes way looks better ^^

Agreed as well

I have them on hotkeys now so I just hit CTL-ALT-S for stock settings profile and CTL-ALT-F for Folding OC Profile.

Many ways to do the same thing but this way, the way I posted, you basically apply the OC profile, play the game/app, then on the exit you revert back to the stock clocks.

Sometimes I forget to reset them and when I go into a game with my [email protected] Shaders so high I get a near instant bluescreen. The above batchfile method saves my ar$e from much rebooting

lol, same here, I always forget to switch profiles. I think i'll be using your method from now on

EDIT: Hm, I just tried with the shortcut method, you don't actualy need the batch file?

I just set the fan and overclock profiles plus the application I wanted in the launcher, set it to restore settings after termination then created a shortcut to it, just open the shortcut and it launchs the game etc, clocks back to normal after exiting.

I guess you didn't read the whole thing then...

It explains how to do it in full detail and color, including pictures!
