Well I just got a HTC Wildfire running Android 2.2 with HBOOT 1.01.0002 as stock. As it has a 528MHz CPU it can be a bit sluggish at times, I have done some reading and it appears that most people can easily clock this up to 768MHz with no trouble. I wish to OC my phone too but to do that it needs to be rooted. I have tried using Unrevoked to root it but it says failed because the firmware is too new

Does anyone know of a way to root the wildfire running the newer firmware.

Have you tried reading over at XDA Developers Forums?

Usually they have all of the good info there.

I think you would be better off posting it on the XDA forums. When I rooted my evo unrevoked didn't work either so I had to do command-prompt way.

Note: if you are on official Android 2.2.1 release by HTC, or, are on HBoot 1.x (Turn off Phone, Press Vol Down + Power, you will see your HBoot version), your phone is not rootable by any software methods yet.
Oh...balls

I know people already posted this, and I read everything. But i still felt like posting.
Do you have anyother questions?

I can't root with Unrevoked 3.21 OR 3.32, it just fails and says my firmware is too new
that's why I started this thread to see if there was any other way.

If it's not on XDA, more likely there isn't anything out.
