Can i set it up like this?

380 Views 7 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  5291Crash
ADSL into modem
Modem to main comp (to control MLPPP single link connection)
Main comp (2nd nic) to router
router to other comps wirelessly

I am with Teksavvy on mlppp so i don't get throttled by bell, and my router can not do a mlppp connection i need to share the net with another comp upstairs

will this work if i set the connection to share across my internal network?

Networking is something i am still learning slowly

Thoughts?

Simple answer. Yes you can use your PC as a bridge between the router and modem.
Yes, it's possible.
How do i go about setting it up like that aside from the wiring?

Both PC's are XP
Router is a D-link wbr-2130
Since you're dialing with the main computer you'll have to do with ICS - bridging the connections will not work.

Here's how to use ICS:

By plugging it into the WAN port. Or by going into static routing and adding that as the default gateway with an IP destination of 0.0.0.0

thanks
