You can put 2 x 1GB sticks in according to Crucial, but from what I've read, some people say it will accept up to 2 x 2GB, but it will only address a little over 3GB of it because it is a 32 bit operating system. Get the exact same memory speed for it though (DDR2-667 PC2-5300). It will not accept DDR2 1066 memory.

i hear the ram can be pretty expensive, but it should be an easy task, now for the HDD, i'm sure if you can find some kinda of data transfer tool * can't think of any off the top of my head atm * i'm sure the transfer can be a breeze!

don't void that warranty now!
Hard drives in the MB are dead easy to swap over, according to my macbook owning freind who recently got a P128 SSD.From what ive seen it looks like only a few screws.

Which model MB do you have,im nearly sure the plastics are slightly different to the Unibodys

Edit :

Do you mean you need to transfer stuff over from an existing HD to your MB ?
no from the hdd i currently have to the new one
the model is mid 2007(i think) 2.16ghz macbook2,1 white. not sure about mobo its the one with intergrated GMA 950 tho

I think your confusing my shorting of words.I use ''MB'' to signify MacBooks and ''Mobo'' for motherboards.

What are you trying to copy across from the external drive,if its just data, then you can drag and drop, mirroring an OS would be different,im not sure how though.Sorry I can't be of more help

I'm not sure about previous OS (tiger etc..), but Leopard should be fine (I've had 18GB RAM on my Mac on both Leopard and SL just fine), unless there is a hardware restriction on the MB that stops it from recognising more RAM.

I get all my Mac RAM from Otherworldcomputing.com, great site, you can easily find what RAM you need to buy for what MB you have.

Your computer will handle 2x2GB of 667MHz DDR2, too bad the prices have doubled from $40 over the past 6 months =(.
