I can press "delete" all day long but I can no longer get into my bios.

I just reciently purchased a new USB mouse and unplugged my wireless PS/2 keyboard and mouse. I plugged the keyboard back in and it never worked again.

I just got a USB keyboard, which works, and still can not get into the bios.

Do USB keyboards work fully before windows boots?

What is going on here?

Does anyone know how I can get into the bios?

I even altered the buttons on my mouse to work as a "delete" key but that did no good too.

This is very frustrarting.

If I'm not mistaken, nothing USB can work until windows fully boots, try to plug in a wired ps/2 keyboard and that should do the trick.

I would guess you tried going back to the old mouse to get into the BIOS.
Try a BIOS clearing, make sure you have USB mouse and KB support enabled.

Try jiggling the ps/2 cable for the keyboard and boot the computer up, shut it down and try again if it doesn't work. I had an old mobo that would take forever but eventually it would work enough to get into bios and enable usb keyboard support. Odd enough my new mobo at boot up seems to support usb keyboard with and without the option on.

when I take out the batery and press power 10 times, should the power be connected again, without the battery in the board?

I am back. I saw the jumper and the batery and opted to take out the batery. It did reset my bios and got the delet key to work on my USB keyboard. Weird. I saw the option to enable the keyboard (thanks The Duke) and reset all of my settings back to normal.

I guess my USB keyboard will work after all

Thanks for the help. I was getting a tad frustrated and upset with my computer.

Yeah. I actually have a setup that I thought would never work:
PS/2 Keyboard >> PS/2 to USB adapter >> USB KVM Switch >> Mobo
It will work on boot, work completely in the BIOS, etc.
