Just spent several hours following the guide and such.. I cannot get OC'd past 2.3 Ghz. I set my FSP at 210 with the multi at 11. My HTT is set down to 4 and my vcore is at 1.4. I set a divider on my ram at 166, and left the timings at default. Anything past that and I get auto reboot. Anyone got some advice?

What are the default RAM timings? It seems the RAM is the problem -- is it all the exact same modules?

Try setting your HTT to 3 and see how high your FSB can go.

its 4 sticks of 512 all of the same stuff above in dual channel

Another thing is, now that I've set everything back to default for now, on CPU Z my voltage is showing me at ~ 2.5 vcore.. eh that's not good eh?

Have you set the ram command to 2T? And cpu-z must be doing a wrong reading... what does it say in the bios?

I'll try setting it to 2T. I set it to default which is 1.4 according to the BIOS

I just tried setting my multi to 3 and found the max FSB to 280.

I had set my multi to 5 to test my FSB, it was ~1300mhz. I ran a few tests and whatnot for 20 minutes or so and no errors.. but I don't imagine I would downclocked that far.

#1 four sticks of ram require a 2T setting
#2 you have value ram, which many times doesn't ran faster than 215mhz, and 4 sticks of ram always run slower than 2 sticks, so you are most likely close to maxing your ram. You'll get a better overclock if you take two sticks out. Otherwise, you'll have to run a divider
#3 you should bump your vcore up one notch

Alright I did what was said and have the 2T setting and a divider at 166 and bumped the vcore to 1.45 I believe and still not even getting a post.

well I finally got a clock of 2406 (~ +200) with a multi of 11, FSB 218, HT at 4, and memory divider 166 with timings of 2-3-3-7. I tried timings of 3-4-4-8 to see if that would let me get a higher overclock, but it didn't. My vcore is at 1.5.
Also changing dram voltage or HT-link voltage didn't help any either. Any one know if I'm missing anything or any other advice?

You need to run memtest and find out what the max speed your ram can run at stabily, from there you can determine how large of a divider you have to run to get the overclock you want.

Update.. I now have a clock of 2652 Mhz, with a multi of 11 and FSB of 240, my HT had to be set down to 3 to even get it to post, then I had to up the voltage to 1.65 vcore and +.2 on the ddr with a divider at 166. I have my timings at 3-4-4-11 but I can't run prime95 for more than a few seconds without gettin an error. I'm wondering if I'll have to get real loose on my timings, and what kind of effect that'll have on overall performance?

I only load up to 32*c btw

In my opinion...I think your RAM can't afford an higher OC...so if you still wanna OC more, NEW RAM may be the first choice

Hmm .. I was under the impression taht by setting a divider, I could bypass my RAM's inability to OC well and up the CPU a bit more. Still cannot get stable at any OC above 2.3 or so.. any one else?

I also had truble with getting high with slow value RAM, even using divider. Get faster RAM!
But you can run the HTT quite high with lower mult, so this indicicates that the core is the limitation. Try higher voltage, and use ram divider.
166MHz RAM divider and 240MHz HTT x 10 should give 200MHz RAM and 2.4GHz CPU freq

Set HTTmult to 3x.
Use Memtest86 with these setting to see if the RAM is stable before running windows. If not stable, try a lower CPU mult. If stable then, the RAM is running OK. If not, you have a problem. Also try to change the RAM voltage. Never use default RAM settings. Allways test RAM stability first!
