Here is the idle of my 2500k.

Are the spikes of ~10c normal for this chip?

Watched the temps some more. Temps jumped from 21c to 33c on occasion too.

I'm asking because on my 4790k, once it gets to idle temps, it doesn't spike like this 2500k.

Another vid. Was idling in the 21-23c range with these spikes.

open task manager and check if your cpu usage is jumping up and down, something may be running in the backround, or your thermal paste might be dried out !

I have 10C jumps between some cores of my 2600K.

IIRC it was "normal" back in the days I was overcclocking it

Not all cores are doing the same stuff at the same time, so it's normal that core-x get's hotter than core-y (even at idle they're always doing something...)

I get random spikes on my 4690k but usually more if I have my turbo set to 4.3 or higher, and leave the voltage to auto. The motherboard auto voltage really goes overboard. all stock and everything runs super cool even under load. 4.5 turbo in cinebench and I reach about 70...

But yeah, it isn't anything to worry about.
