Didn't know what section. Anyways, if I were to buy a dell. Could I say upgrade the GPU. Or maybe change out the motherboard. Basically, can you change the components without buying a totally new system from newegg or whatever?

Hi.

Yes, you can upgrade RAM, GPU, PSU or any other ancillary components.

You can change out most parts except for motherbooard. On some Dell units the PSU is finiky as well (the connectors fit fine, the system powers up, but you may have to cut parts of the case to get it to mount)
One thing to watch, especially with the GPU, most dell desktops use small form factor cases. PCI slots are only half size. So sticking a 5890x2 probably wont be possible. But HDD, RAM, Etc. should be no problem.
Some dells you can change everything, but some have those BTX mobo's, which you can't change, unless you plan on getting another Dell mombo.

^^^ this. But you will void the warranty if Dell finds out. For example, you make a support call because something isn't working right. You've changed the GPU. Your problem has nothing to do with the GPU, but they ask you something about... say drivers. Wrong drivers installed, and Dell ends the support call.

The reason you can't change the Mobo, The Dell OS disk they sent you will not install on a Mobo other than a Dell.

Yeah Ive heard that some dells use proprietary PSU as well. They are a pain to upgrade because the cases are tight. Your best bet would be to get a new case for it before you start adding upgrades and create a hotbox.

Yes OEM manufacturers use OEM Windows and any upgrade you do will definitely void your warranty.

This is true, but nothing a Dremel can't find a way around.
